Safety for Farmers & Visitors
Rest assured that Schilter Family Farm takes the COVID-19 virus situation seriously, but allow us some wit and humor in sharing our guidelines and procedures for the Fall Harvest Season. We thought we’d use a farmer’s nemesis to portray our procedures for the world’s nemesis — meet Mr. Ray Coon and his charming family! Note that our farm will operate at a decreased capacity through 2020. NOTE: The jumping pillow, hay jump, and giant sandbox will not be available this year due to COVID and the inability to keep them clean. Also, our petting farm will be animal viewing only for the safety of our guests, farm animal friends, and state agritourism mandates.
Our Task List
We are ramping up our already rigorous cleaning procedures. If it holds still long enough, it’s going to get scrubbed!
Our FarmHands will wear masks for all guest contact. We call these little raccoons our farm “maskots”.
We are screening FarmHands before they work each day. Nope! You can’t come in with a fever or other health issues!
We are reworking concession sales to get our famous goodies into your hands safe and fast!
Hand Washing Stations
For your convenience and safety, we have provided hand washing stations around the farm. Stop and take a dip when you find one.
A “Paws” for Cleaning!
We are providing hand sanitizer stations around the farm. Let’s keep those paws clean and germ-free, shall we?
Your Task List
Masks are required on wagon rides, when making purchases, and whenever you are within 6ft of people not from your household.
Please keep six feet between you and those outside of your household. (That’s for two-footed critters also, folks!)
Not Feeling Well?
If you have a fever or other symptoms of COVID-19, or have been exposed in the last 14 days, please stay home and rest.
By visiting Schilter Family Farm, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
